How Solar Pool Heating Works
For most residential pools, the pool heating solar system operates directly with the existing pool pump and filter. Today's most efficient solar pool heating systems employ an automatically controlled diverting valve.
The diverter valve is used to direct the flow of pool water through the system. If the pool water needs to be heated, the diverter is opened and it will send the pool water to the collectors. If the pool water does not need to heated the diverter will close, bypassing the solar pool heating collectors, and circulating the water back to the pool.
A differential controller determines whether the diverter valve should be opened or closed. The controller measures the temperature of the water in the pool and the water in the solar collectors. If the temperature in the solar pool heating collectors is higher than the pool water and the pool is below the desired temperature set by the homeowner, the controller opens the diverter valve.
Most solar pool heating systems have very few moving parts minimizing operation and maintenance requirements. Normally a solar pool heating system will typically pay for itself in 2-4 years.

The Aquasol solar pool heating system utilizes your pools existing filtration pump. It works by pumping your water through the collectors, which is heated by energy from the sun and returned to your pool. The Aquasol controller does this automatically when solar energy is available, and keeps your pool at the desired set temperature.
Made of polypropylene copolymer with UV inhibitors and antioxidants and are resistant to UV damage and corrosion from chlorinated water. Aquasol Solar Pool Collectors have a 12 year limited warranty and are available in three sizes: 4'x8', 4'x10' and 4'x12'.
